Allegheny Cemetery
Some people think that cemeteries are a strange place to go for relaxation, but I find that they are quite peaceful and interesting. For years I’ve wanted to visit Allegheny Cemetery and recently, I had the opportunity to do it. This 300 acre behemoth, located in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh is the final resting place of over 124,00 people. With over 15 miles of roadways, plan to spend more than a few minutes exploring the grounds.
If you plan to visit the cemetery, be sure to have a full tank of gas, a camera, good walking shoes, and download the maps from the cemetery website, http://www.alleghenycemetery.com/
You should also be on the lookout for friendly deer……………
