Miniatures are one of my favorite things and this collection will make dollhouse lovers everywhere a little envious. These miniature room boxes were created by Pittsburgh resident Ruth McChesney. Even though she specialized in needlework, she collaborated with various international artisans to create these tiny works of amazing art. I remember these from a visit to the Carnegie Museum of Art when I was a child.
Her rooms are in the permanent collections several museums including the Carnegie Museum of Art , Winterthur, the Westmoreland Art Museum, The American Museum in Britain and many others.
If you would like to view more images of Ruth’s creations, visit this website (http://miniaturerooms.com/index.php?page=ruth-mcchesney) for more information and extra photos of her miniatures.
In a land that’s known as freedom how can such a thing be fair……
